What ISO\/IEC 17025 Means To You<\/strong>?<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

ISO\/IEC 17025 provides an objective third-party assessment of the managerial and technical competence of testing laboratories and assures the \u201cprecision, accuracy and repeatability\u201d of analytical results. As the basis of laboratory accreditation in more than 35 countries, this global benchmark means M\u00e9rieux NutriSciences clients can have even greater confidence in the validity of our testing results.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Internal Quality Systems<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

To provide you with consistent, high-quality results across our worldwide network, our corporate Analytical Services Department develops detailed SOPs for all laboratory processes. They also conduct regular internal audits and administer the industry\u2019s most challenging internal proficiency program. Our daily QA tests greatly exceed the specific QC standards set by the AOAC ALACC for food microbiology and chemistry testing. M\u00e9rieux NutriSciences has also implemented Statistical Process Control (SPC) programs for our microbiology tests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As an ISO 17025 accredited chain of laboratories, we have developed a system for calculating an estimation of uncertainty for nearly all quantitative results, both microbiological and chemical. Variants in measurements are typical, and for a particular result, we can supply an estimation of the variation associated with that number.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Due to the thousands of assays, we conduct, providing this information for every result would be time-consuming. There are, however, times that this information could be critical in making decisions. For example, if a result falls just above or below a specification, the variation \u2013 or uncertainty \u2013 associated with that number could be critical in making a decision on a product\u2019s acceptability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
