Mérieux NutriSciences AQ can execute Disinfectant Qualification Studies for you to determine and verify the effectiveness of the disinfectants and sanitisers used in specific production environments.

Disinfectant Qualification Studies in a Nutshell

Disinfectant Qualification Studies involve identifying environmental isolates and verifying the effectiveness of disinfectants used in your facility against these isolates according to your mode of application. This is because microbial flora in your facility may be different from the standard reference culture used at the time of verification of efficacy claims in disinfectant and sanitiser test methods. 

Reference cultures can also be used if there are no environmental isolates available for the study. It is recommended that both reference cultures and environmental isolates as well as the organisms isolated from the products are included in the Disinfectant Qualification Studies.

The test is based on a carrier test methodology which involves inoculating the coupons of the surfaces in your production area and applying the disinfectants under your mode of application to verify the effectiveness of your disinfection process. We recommend testing 8 coupons of 2 x 2 cm (5 tests, 2 positive controls, and 1 negative control) against each organism of concern. You may nominate different concentrations and contact times.
