Storage Trials

The demand for storage trial-related projects in the food industry continues to grow and MNAQ is well placed to assist our customers and the industry alike in performing these studies.

Please see below for a comprehensive overview;

1. To ensure that all requirements are achievable, understood and documented, MNAQ will require one week’s notification of a project related to storage trials of food, to give us an opportunity to review your objectives, confirm fee structures and budget estimates, and conduct some forward planning.
2. Requests for challenge study projects will contain the following elements (if necessary):
   ● Feasibility study that will consider and summarise all essential aspects
   ● Draft project overview for preliminary discussion including cost elements
   ● Confirmation of storage capacity and controlled conditions available at MNAQ
   ● Feedback or suggestions to enhance the project
   ● Request for more information/additional research as required
   ● Final Blueprint for the project including fully itemised Budget Estimate, to be approved by the customer before proceeding
3. If MNAQ is not able to assist in the storage of samples for trials, the customer can store the samples elsewhere and send them to MNAQ for analysis under standard microbiology testing.

Available controlled storage temperatures at MNAQ are 4°C, ambient & frozen.
Available workspace will vary depending on work in process at any time, therefore it is recommended storage capacity is discussed with Customer Experience at the time of the enquiry.

To request a Storage trial quote from MNAQ please contact our Sales team and provide specific details about your testing needs at the following email addresses, alternatively reach out directly to your Account Manager.

Please provide the following details in your enquiry;
● The objective of the project (e.g., storage trial validation for a specific duration or secondary shelf-life).
● Name and description of the product(s).
● List of ingredients per product.
● Finished product package size and type of packaging.
● Storage instructions for the finished product.
● Description of tests required.
● Number of time points and tests required.

A formal quote and detailed instructions will then be provided, valid for 30 days.
Upon confirmation of the quote, email MNAQ to confirm the commencement date of the storage trial.

Once a Storage trial protocol has been accepted, MNAQ will manage your storage trial project, with sample details and requirements referenced from the quote.
You must complete the Storage trial Sample Submission Form in full and email it to Sample Registration. This form will be provided to you at the time of acceptance of your Storage Trial.
You need to include the name and required contact details for the recipient of the Shelf-Life report.
A hard copy of the Storage Trial Sample Submission Form must be included with your samples.
